Day 33 (Wed. June 14/06)

Delta, BC to Moses Lake, WA

We Started off with cool, dry weather but we picked up a drizzle while by-passing Seattle and suited up. By the time we got the suits on it had let up, but the sky suggested we keep them on. Good choice as we had rain on and off through Snoqualmie Pass. Coming down the mountains it cleared up so we stopped at a rest area just before the Columbia River to take the suits off.

Approaching the river and bridge from the west didn't seem like a big deal.

From a lookout point on the east side of the river, you could see just how wide the river was and the size of the approach to the bridge.

This jet came screaming over our heads just as I was about to take a picture of the Wild Horse Monument. It scared the S#&! out of us. Oddly enough, the picture of the low flying jet was clearer than the one of the horse monument.
