Day 3 (Mon. May 15/06)

Normal, IL to Lebanon, MO

We had intended to stay in Lebanon, MO but we spent a lot of time talking to some people at a Flying J truck stop about wireless internet. The result was: try it around the motels and truck stops to see if there is any free access available.

We thought we were farther from the Munger Moss Motel than we were so we stayed in St. Robert, MO which turned out to be only about 50 km from the Munger Moss Motel. However, it turned out to be a good choice as we ended up getting access to the internet from the Econo Lodge next door to the motel we stayed in.

RAIN, RAIN, RAIN!

WE started off with rain on an overcast, almost foggy type day. Visibility was probably only a kilometer with a lot of road spray. The bike cover was soaked so I bungee corded it to the top of the cooler so it wouldn't soak what was inside the dry trailer.

The Pig Hip Restaurant & Motel was our first stop in Broadwell, IL.

There seems to be a spelling error here!

The Cozy Dog Restaurant in Springfield, IL.
Pat talked to a baby bird that seemed to have lost it's mother. A customer came out and thought it would be better off behind the restaurant than in the parking lot so he moved it.
