SETTING UP A PERSONAL SIGNATURE
You cannot create a "Personal Signature" with the
"Basic" (free) membership. You must upgrade to Delphi Advanced
at $1.29 per month USD or Delphi Plus at $4.95 per month USD.
UPGRADE YOUR MEMBERSHIP
To upgrade, go to our chapter 57 web site
( www.chapter57.com ), select "Forum" and then select
"Membership Options" at the bottom of the page
OR
go to www.delphiforums.com and select "Upgrade your
membership" at the bottom of the page.
To select the membership you want, click on the
"Red GO Button" for the plan you want and fill in the required
information for payment.
SETTING UP YOUR PERSONAL SIGNATURE
Edit your "PROFILE" to enter the HTML code to
display signature text or a picture. The picture you display
must be on a web site somewhere on the internet. It cannot
be displayed from your home or work computer.
If you have a picture uploaded to the chapter 57 web
site, you can use it. If you don't have a picture on the chapter
57 web site, see me at any ride and I'll take some for you and
either email them to you or put one up for you.
To find out the "ADDRESS (URL) of this
go to www.chapter57.com , click on "MEMBERS", click on your
picture in the list on the right side of the screen, right click
anywhere on the picture and click on "Properties". Use the
"ADDRESS (URL)" that is displayed starting with http and ending
with jpg. Do a "COPY" of the whole line and "PASTE" it between
the quotes in the second line below.
The easiest way to edit your profile is to click on
your name either in a message where the "From:" and "To:"
are at the top of the page
OR
click on your name in the "Visitors" list.
The following example of the HTML code will display my picture and
2 lines of text below it if entered as is. I suggest you use the
sample HTML code to get it working and then change it to what you want.
Click on "My Prefs" and scroll down to
"Personal Signature". Do a copy and paste of the following:
<center>
<img src="http://www.chapter57.com/images/bikes/Vn800.jpg" width=275 height=200 >
</center>
<center>** BoB "Uncle BoB" Strohm, SCRC 57261 **</center>
<center>** Life is too short, enjoy it while you can **</center>
The code you pasted should look like the following:
** BoB "Uncle BoB" Strohm, SCRC 57261 **
** Life is too short, enjoy it while you can **
The first 3 lines must be entered but the last 2
lines with the "Asterics" are optional. If you want to
display a different picture than what is on the
"Chapter 57 Members" list, then you can change the address
between the quotes starting with http://
Scroll down to the bottom and click "Submit"
when your signature HTML code is complete.
TESTING YOUR SIGNATURE
You can test your signature without posting a
message. Click on "Post New", select a folder, enter
a "Discussion Title" and enter a message.
Scroll down and click "Preview". What you see
is what will be posted. Click on "Cancel" to cancel the
message or "Revise" to change anything in the message. Click
on "Preview" to check it before posting. When satisfied
that the message can be posted, click on "Post".
